Heat Flux Testing

Heat transfer is a crucial factor in building energy efficiency; heat flux testing is used to determine the heat transfer coefficient (u-value) of a building component, such as a wall.

The u-value would demonstrate how well the wall keeps the heat inside a building, by measuring the heat flow through it. Heat flux testing therefore helps to build up a more complete and accurate picture of heat loss parameters or – if used in conjunction with co-heat testing – of whole-building thermal performance. Stroma NX undertakes heat flux testing to meet a range of requirements.

All tests are carried out in accordance with the international standard ISO 9869, “Thermal insulation - Building elements - In-situ measurement of thermal resistance and thermal transmittance”.
