The announcement was made at the Island’s recent Energy Expo, where Manx Electricity was also presented with the Public Sector Best Practice Award in the Isle of Man Government’s Annual Energy Awards, recognising the significant steps the organisation had taken in improving their own operational energy efficiency.

Manx Electricity was assisted in achieving this award by Stroma NX’s extensive assessment of their headquarters, which employed air-tightness testing, energy auditing and dynamic simulation modelling to identify viable energy improvements and calculate potential cumulative savings (estimated at an impressive 33%). The identified remedial works required were then undertaken to activate the substantial benefits at the earliest opportunity, with an estimated payback on these costs through energy savings of around just 3 years.

The MEA is delighted with the result of Stroma NX's work and can attest with confidence to the benefits and merits of both the process and outcome of our Energy Services and Air Tightness Testing. We look forward to working with all the staff at the MEA and hope that we can play a small part in establishing a culture of positive awareness and change to new ideas and technologies.

We have been very impressed by the professional and experienced approach of Stroma NX in providing value added energy service solutions – an ideal fit with MEA’s own strategy in support of our customers energy and life style aspirations. One of the key values that struck a chord with us was Stroma NX’s total respect for the customer. This was witnessed particularly during a project to improve the energy performance of MEA’s headquarters; where the Stroma team, supported by a number of their trained and accredited Island based contractors, delivered beyond expectations – the benefits being noticeable and measurable from day 1. Quality standards, value, respect of customer operations and courtesy were apparent throughout the project.

One of Government’s primary obligations and that of the MEA is to support the growth of the economy. I believe that this collaboration with Stroma NX will undoubtedly underpin that obligation by working towards a low-carbon environment, utilising local resources and supporting the deployment of the latest technologies on the Island.
