Ballingan Farm, Marown

Ballingan Farm, Marown

Built by James Vickers of Complete Construction Services, a fantastic part renovation, part new-build private residential development with a swimming pool in a traditional rural style, where Stroma NX was commissioned to provide a mechanical system design and supply all the renewable technologies, including 5 Air Source Heat Pumps, solar PV and solar thermal arrays, a wind turbine, and underfloor heating, all integrated where appropriate.

Consequently, the overall carbon and running cost reductions, due to the efficient electrically driven technology and the significant contribution to the electrical requirement by PV and wind turbines, are sizeable indeed.

The installation of the heat pumps, solar thermal and heating system was undertaken by our trained and accredited Island based partners IDPH Ltd. and the electrical and solar PV by Ardern and Druggan Ltd.

Stroma NX & Complete Construction Services Win 2013 Energy Award for Ballingan Farm Project

Stroma NX and Complete Construction Services are awarded the 2013 Private Sector Best Innovation Award for their Ballingan Farm project.

The contractor has provided a high performance property for his client with efficient heating for both the house and the swimming pool along with hot water provision with as low a carbon footprint as realistically possible. He has built an attractive, traditional stone and render rural estate with in-roof solar thermal and pv arrays that add to the aesthetics of the build in no uncertain terms.

As a result of all our efforts on this development, the overall carbon and running cost reductions, due to the efficient electrically driven technology and the significant contribution to the electrical requirement by solar PV and wind turbines, is around 57,072 kWh/year which equates to a reduction of 18,795 kgs of CO2 per year.
